From Penguin Random House Marketing…

We can’t lie, we’ve been very excited to put together an email totally dedicated to the one and only Ms. Jane Austen.

Jane was born on this day two hundred and thirty-nine years ago, so today we are going to party like it’s 1775! To celebrate, we’ve pulled together a collection of books certain to make your Austen fans swoon.

Writer’s Week: ESA’s First “Festival of Canadian Authors”

The ESA Library and English Department are delighted to announce our inaugural Canadian Festival of Authors.

“Writers’ Week” will run on the Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, of the week of January 19th – 23rd, 2015.

Over the course of these four days, every student at ESA will have the opportunity to spend time in a workshop or presentation session with a local Canadian author.  In total, we have 12 Visiting Authors coming in to do 19 individual sessions with students.

This is a major undertaking for the two departments.  In order to help fund this exciting week we have launched an Indiegogo campaign.

We appreciate that this is a busy time of year for all, and that there are many organisations offering holiday gift ideas.  If you have an ESA student – past or present – on your Christmas gift list, please do consider making a donation to support this week of enrichment for our students.

The shortlink to the Indiegogo campaign is:  http://igg.me/at/ESAWritersWeek2015.

Thanks in advance for any and all support you, the members of our ESA community, are able to provide.
